TTworkbench: How to increase the performance at compile time to prevent 'out of memory error', 'heap out of memory' or 'PermGen memory error'?

Environment/Versions

TTworkbench 32/64 Bit, Microsoft Windows/Linux

Procedure

Depending on your Operation System and RAM (8 GB recommended) you can increase the following values in the ttworkbench.ini file (located in the TTworkbench installation directory) e.g. :

32bit OS:

-Xmx1024m
-XX:MaxPermSize=256m (optional)

64bit OS:

-Xmx4096m
-XX:MaxPermSize=400m (optional)

Note: If your values are too high, your system will swap memory to your hard drive, which may slow down the system.
