Spirent iTest
Spirent chose to no longer support the lmtools with iTest 4.2 as it doesn't support multiple licenses. So, we have to start the license server by executing the lmgrd utility from the command line as
lmgrd -c <pathTo_LicenseFiles_directory> -l logFile.log
When we restart the license server machine again we have to start the license server by using above command.
We can overcome this issue by using Windows Task Scheduler which can start the license server automatically at windows startup or logon.
Steps to start the license server automatically at windows startup:
1. Create a bat file with the command what we use to start the license server.
Ex: myBatchFile.bat
@echo off
D:spirent-vendor-daemon_v4.2-win32lmgrd.exe -c D:spirent-vendor-daemon_v4.2-win32tempLicense.lic -l D:spirent-vendor-daemon_v4.2-win32debug.log
2. Using Windows Task Scheduler, schedule this task to run at "Startup" and "Log on".
Once we re-login or restart the machine, the license server will start automatically.
Note: Even though we can use lmtools to configure iTest 4.2 license server with a single license file.
